A cheery, sadistic, deranged woman who is contractually obliged to make jokes no matter the situation. There has never been a less enthusiastic standup comedian.

She’s enthusiastic about humiliating and torturing Lacrimosa, though. They used to get along when Lacrimosa was a child, but Mercy doesn’t have an issue with being cruel to her now.

Even after Mercy leaves her job as royal fool to become Lark’s travelling companion, she really makes an effort with the japes and pranks. Why does she have to be so annoying? And why does she know the Words of Power that Lark needs to cast sun-magic?
