My favourite BL manga!
My taste in BL is edgy and dark stuff; I also like romance when it's not too romantic. I care more about the storytelling (art, paneling, pacing, etc) than the story itself, although maybe that's a prerequisite to enjoy this genre.
I don't read that widely or often (although I have standards--I'm sure I have read at least 10x the number of works here which did not make it onto this list) so this is just a tiny slice of what's out there. However I do think I have taste and any one of these is worth checking out!!!! I dithered a lot but eventually decided to keep my comments to the bare minimum because I think their covers speak for themselves.
Note... fan translations for BL don't have high standards and the meaning can often be inaccurate. Aside from supporting artists and encouraging more translations, it's worth it to buy official English editions whenever you can just for the translation quality.
Title: Cry of Despair 絶望に啼け

Featuring: Corporate drama
What I like: Painful and complicated romance, sexy art
Notes: This is my #1. Must be based on Jonadio. I never paid attention to the ship before but I loved this manga so much that I went and read over 100k of Jonadio fanfic afterwards (it wasn't as good).

What I like: Beautiful and unusual art, quietly sweet
Notes: Officially recommended by Satoru Noda, the author of Golden Kamuy.

Featuring: Fantasy adventure, teratophilia
What I like: Creative with character designs and kinks, ensemble cast gets focus
Notes: Very unconventional. I still haven't read volume 3, since I got into this series while it was still being released.

What I like: Upsetting, sexy art, ensemble cast gets focus
Notes: Fan translation stopped very close to the end with no updates in the past 3 years.

Title: My Little Inferno マイリトルインフェルノ
Author: Asada Nemui 朝田ねむい
Featuring: Modern setting
What I like: Humour, current references (like when they watch minecraft let's plays together...), MC suffering pathetically
Notes: Asada Nemui is probably better known in international fandom for Sleeping Dead, the one about the little scientist and the cannibal.

Featuring: Modern setting, sibling incest
What I like: Upsetting, quiet and oppressive atmosphere
Notes: Tamekou is better known for My Androgynous Boyfriend (josei) and Lala's Married Life (BL), both of which have an official English translation.
